The Village of Lindenhurst has announced the opening of its 2025 Photo Contest, inviting residents to showcase their photography skills and affection for the community. The contest seeks pictures that capture the beauty of Lindenhurst throughout the year, with potential features on the Village's website, social media, and other publications.

According to the announcement, "The Village will also give photo credits to those who submit their photos as part of the contest. "

Photos will be evaluated based on content and quality, with a requirement that all images must be captured within the Village of Lindenhurst. Minors wishing to participate must obtain parental consent.

The submission period runs from July 8 to September 8. Open voting for select photos will take place on the Village website from September 15 through September 19. The top three most voted photos will be shared on Village social media platforms and other publications.

Contest rules stipulate that anyone can enter, provided their photos are taken within the Village limits. Submissions must be in landscape orientation and in electronic file format; pre-existing photos are acceptable if they meet these criteria.

Additional guidelines include restrictions against featuring intellectual property or identifiable faces in submitted photos. Employees of the Village of Lindenhurst may enter but are not eligible to win prizes.

The announcement notes: "If the contest is not able to run as planned, the Village of Lindenhurst reserves the right to suspend or cancel the contest without notice. "

Participants should also be aware that all entries become property of the Village and may be used in various media formats indefinitely at no cost. While every attempt will be made to provide photo credit, it is not guaranteed for all uses.

Entrants agree to abide by all rules and regulations set forth by Village Staff.
