Illini Bluffs District appoints Josiah Martin as new high school principal

At the July 7 meeting, the Illini Bluffs Community Unit School District #327 Board of Education approved Josiah Martin as the new high school principal. Mr. Martin has been with Illini Bluffs for three years, currently serving as an 8th-grade math teacher and volunteer coach at the middle school.

Before joining Illini Bluffs, Martin taught 8th-grade math in Canton for eight years and spent two years teaching math at Spring Valley Hall High School. He holds three Master's degrees in Principal Preparation, Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Technology. His undergraduate degree in Mathematics is from Augustana College.

In addition to his teaching duties, Martin is part of the district’s AI Committee and Middle School Leadership Team. He resides in Canton with his wife Christina and their two children.

Upon accepting his new role, Martin expressed his commitment to making a positive impact: “It will be a great honor to serve Illini Bluffs High School. I have enjoyed working in the district for the last three years and look forward to having the opportunity to have an even bigger impact on students' lives. I will lead with enthusiasm and positivity as we all work together to do what is best for our students.”
