An Addison man has been charged following a fatal traffic crash in Wadsworth over the weekend. The incident resulted in the death of Bogdana Mygal. According to investigators, Andrew D. Willard, 58, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Preliminary findings suggest Willard's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

Willard was taken into custody after being released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office has approved charges against him for aggravated DUI causing death, a Class 2 felony, and DUI - alcohol traffic violations. Additional charges may be filed.

The crash occurred on July 5, 2025, around 10:15 p.m., involving three vehicles on West Russell Road at Frontage Road in Wadsworth. Investigators reported that Willard's Porsche Macan failed to stop and collided with a Chevrolet Volt, which then hit a Mercedes-Benz due to the impact.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 33-year-old woman from Niles, died from her injuries at the hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet and another passenger, a 4-year-old girl from Niles, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Occupants of the Mercedes-Benz also suffered serious injuries but are expected to recover.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office plans to file a petition to keep Willard detained pending trial. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

The investigation by Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is ongoing.
