Waukegan Park District opens applications for B.A.S.E. program

The Waukegan Park District is currently accepting applications for its Before & After School Experience (B.A.S.E.) program. Scheduled to run from Monday, August 11, 2025, to Thursday, May 21, 2026, the program will take place at the Belvidere Recreation Center in Corrine J. Rose Park.

This initiative is designed for students from kindergarten through fifth grade and includes a variety of activities such as arts, crafts, games, and sports. Additionally, students will have dedicated time to complete homework with support available.

The program aligns with the Waukegan Public Schools' academic calendar and accommodates early and late school starts and releases. The schedule includes:

- Before School Program (Early Start): 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for $199 per month

- Before School Program (Late Start): 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for $215 per month

- After School Program (Early Release): 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for $221 per month

- After School Program (Late Release): 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for $210 per month

Transportation will be provided for participants attending Waukegan Public Schools. Families with siblings are eligible for discounts, and third-party funding along with program assistance is available.
