The Sachs Recreation Center will undergo facility maintenance and will be closed from August 13 to August 20. During this period, several projects are scheduled. The swimming pool will be closed for an extended period from August 8 to August 27 for maintenance, which includes draining, deep cleaning, and the installation of a new PVC liner, circulation pump, filters, and ladders. Additionally, the pool locker rooms will receive a deep clean and annual preventative maintenance on mechanical systems.

Maintenance of wood floors in gymnasiums A & B and the Group Exercise Studio involves screening and sealing. The perimeter curtain separating gymnasiums A & B will be replaced. New energy-efficient lighting is also set to be installed above these gymnasiums and the fitness area.

During the closure, SRC members can access alternative workout locations at no cost. These include the Techny Prairie Activity Center in Northbrook and the Park Fitness Center in Highland Park. Fitness classes and Pickleball are available for an additional fee. Members must present their membership ID for entry.

A modified Group Exercise Class Schedule will offer daily class options during this time. Details can be found online at https://www.deerfieldparks.org/235/Group-Exercise. For questions about group exercise classes, contact Amy Kanzler at amy@sachsreccenter.org.

SRC members can also use their membership ID to visit Mitchell Pool without charge during the closure. Pool availability information is available on the park district pools webpage: www.deerfieldparks.org.parks-facilities/pools/. For further inquiries regarding the closure notice, contact the SRC front desk at (847) 572-2600.
