A traffic accident in Green Oaks resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on Friday afternoon. Lake County Sheriff's Traffic Crash Investigators are examining the incident, which occurred on July 18, 2025, at around 2:35 p.m. Deputies responded to the scene at Route 176 and Bradley Road after receiving reports of a crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, deputies found that a motorcyclist had suffered fatal injuries. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2013 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, operated by a 35-year-old man from Round Lake Beach, was traveling westbound on Route 176. Witnesses reported that the traffic light was green for westbound vehicles as the motorcycle approached Bradley Road.
Simultaneously, a 2008 Peterbilt Semi with an attached trailer, driven by a 50-year-old man from McHenry, was heading eastbound on Route 176. The semi-truck driver attempted to turn left onto northbound Bradley Road in front of the motorcycle, leading to a collision between the two vehicles.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lake County Coroner’s Office is involved and has scheduled an autopsy. The semi-truck driver was unharmed and is cooperating with authorities as they continue their investigation into the crash.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is handling the ongoing investigation.
