City of Highwood Committee of the Whole met July 1

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER By Mayor Pecaro at 6:05 PM

1. Roll Call

Present: Aldermen Bauer, Hanson, Fiore, Peterson, Markoutsas

Absent: Alderman Slavin

Also Present: City Manager Coren, Assistant City Manager Facchini, Administrative

Assistant Hunt, and Attorney Jablecki.

5. Review of Bill Warrant List

5.1. 07/1/2025 AP Warrant List

The Warrant List will be approved at the Regular City Council Meeting.

7. New Business

7.1. Consideration of a motion approving an ARC application for an awning at Pelago Café located at 325 Waukegan.

This item will be approved at the Regular City Council Meeting.

7.2. Consideration of a motion approving an ARC application for a wall sign at the Make Craft Camp located at 828 Sheridan Road.

This item will be approved at the Regular City Council Meeting.

7.3. A presentation by the Highwood Public Library on their FYE 2025

No action will be taken on this item. Laura Ramirez and Lucy Hospodarsky presented the Library’s FYE 2025 reporting.

7.4. Consideration of an ordinance on salary and compensation for the City of Highwood for the FYE 2026 Budget year.

This item will be approved at the Regular City Council Meeting.

7.5. Consideration of a motion authorizing the City Manager to spend up to $50,000 for asphalt patching throughout the City.

This item will be approved at the Regular City Council Meeting.

7.6. Consideration of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Highland Park for Western Avenue Street Improvements and authorizing the City Manager to spend up to $150,000 on related resurfacing.

This item will be approved at the Regular City Council Meeting.

Motion made by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Peterson to adjourn the Committee of the Whole meeting. All present voting aye by voice vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:31 PM.
