The application of Reclamite, a topical pavement treatment, is scheduled to begin the week of August 11 on several streets paved in 2023 and 2024, depending on weather conditions. The roads selected for this year's treatment include Red Barn Lane, W. Station Street (Dundee to Lageshulte), Cascade Court (Manchester to west end), Cascade Court (Columbia – south end), Astoria Court, Lake Shore Drive North (Oxbow – N. Valley), Skyline Drive, Highland Avenue, Park Barrington Drive cul-de-sac, and Hillcrest Drive.
According to officials, Reclamite helps preserve roads that are already in good condition. Corrective Asphalt Materials will provide further details about parking restrictions and other information a few days prior to the start of the work.
Residents are advised to follow no on-street parking rules from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. when signs are posted during the treatment period.
Those with garbage cans on the street should move them closer to the curb or onto their front lawn or sidewalk. Homeowners with lawn sprinkling systems are asked to turn them off on the day work is performed as well as the following day.
Drivers may travel through areas where work is being done but are urged to drive slowly and remain on areas treated with sand or screenings. Entering driveways before contractors finish applying limestone or sand may result in some product being tracked onto driveways and sidewalks; these marks will fade within weeks.
Questions about the project can be directed by email to Project Manager Jon Pawlowski or by phone at (847) 304-3469.
