Mundelein Park District opens inclusive space at Kracklauer Park

Mundelein Park & Recreation District marked the opening of its new Inclusive Space at Kracklauer Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and donor wall reveal on August 4, 2025. The event featured remarks from district leadership, Illinois State Senator Adriane Johnson, Illinois State Representative Daniel Didech, Village of Mundelein Mayor Robin Meier, and local residents.

The Inclusive Space is designed to provide recreational opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. The park aims to remove barriers so that everyone in the community can participate in activities together.

"This exciting community celebration included remarks from Park District leadership, Illinois State Senator Adriane Johnson, Illinois State Representative Daniel Didech, Village of Mundelein Mayor Robin Meier, and various residents of Mundelein," according to the Mundelein Park & Recreation District.

Park officials described the project as an important step toward greater accessibility and inclusion within public spaces in Mundelein. The district said it remains committed to expanding opportunities for recreation without limitations.
