With the arrival of Coach Chris Helbig, Westminster High School’s football team is preparing for its season opener against South High School at Memorial Stadium on August 28. The school community is watching closely as the program starts a new chapter under his leadership.

Helbig, who previously played at Holy Family High School and in NFL Europe, has returned to Westminster to lead the Wolves. He described his approach in a recent interview: “This isn’t just about football,” Helbig said. “This is about helping young people grow into responsible, resilient adults. Football is just the vehicle. I wake up every day excited to come here at 6:00 AM because I get to build relationships with these guys.”

The Wolves’ upcoming games are expected to draw attention from both fans and those interested in how Helbig’s methods influence players off the field.
