Residents in the Village have reported that a contractor has been attempting to enter properties by offering broadband services and collecting personal information related to the installation of I3, a broadband provider. While I3 is authorized to install fiber in the Village’s right-of-way, officials clarified that representatives should not be soliciting residents for services or requesting entry into homes.
The Village advises anyone with questions or who wishes to confirm the identity of individuals claiming to represent I3 to contact the Police Department at 847-362-8310 or I3 directly at 309-689-0711.
According to the Village, "As always, a no solicitor sign placed in the door should be honored. The Village has complementary no solicitor signs available at the Village Hall and Police Department by request."
