Barrington Public Works will host an open house event where community members can meet staff and learn about local services. The event will include activities such as Touch-a-Truck, demonstrations, facility tours, free food, and giveaways.

The Village of Barrington operates its own Wastewater Treatment Facility at 302 N. Raymond Ave., which has been processing over two million gallons of wastewater daily since 1936. Visitors to the open house will have the opportunity to tour this facility.

During the event, non-perishable food donations will be collected for the Barrington and Cuba Township Food Pantries.

Parking for the event is limited at the Public Works Facility but includes ADA spaces. Additional parking is available at Barrington High School and the District 220 administrative office. Directional signs and Village staff will assist with traffic flow. Street parking on Raymond Avenue, Laverne Lane, or N. Hager Avenue will not be allowed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help manage event traffic.
