The Lake Bluff Village Library has announced its participation in Banned Books Week, which will take place from October 6 to 11. The library emphasizes its commitment to representing a broad range of voices and perspectives through its collection and programming.

According to the announcement, "That’s why we are committed to representing a wide range of voices and perspectives in everything we do—from the materials on our shelves to the programs we offer. Everyone deserves to see themselves reflected, and to have the opportunity to learn from others’ experiences."

The library also acknowledged its ongoing collaboration with local organizations. "We’re deeply grateful to our community, the Village of Lake Bluff, and the Lake Bluff History Museum for their continued partnership and support. Their dedication allows us to serve our residents more meaningfully and creatively."

During Banned Books Week, the library will host events that focus on celebrating the freedom to read and exploring stories that challenge, inspire, and connect people. Community members are encouraged to participate in these activities by visiting Banned Books Week for a full list of events.

The library invites feedback from patrons regarding their needs and ideas for future services. "Your voice matters to us. We want to hear what you love, what you need, and what you imagine for your Library. Please reach out to Natalie Starosta, Library Director—we’re listening."
