Bus route changes for United Township High School District 30 take effect October 14

Changes to three bus routes affecting students in United Township High School District 30 will take effect starting Tuesday, October 14. The district has announced adjustments for students who ride buses 22 and 31.

According to the district, students previously using Bus 31 with a pickup at 7:29 a.m. at 1st Avenue & 13th Street in Silvis will now ride Bus 27, with pickup rescheduled to 7:23 a.m. This group of students will be part of the first run at dismissal.

Additionally, students in Silvis who rode Bus 22 will be transferred to Bus 31. Their pickup times are set ten minutes earlier than before, also as part of the first run at dismissal.

For East Moline students riding Bus 22, morning pickups will now occur exactly twenty-two minutes earlier than previously scheduled. These students are assigned to the second run at dismissal.

The changes apply to schools represented by United Township High School District 30, which serves Rock Island and Henry counties (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). The district includes United Township High School and is characterized by a diverse student body—51.3 percent White, 16 percent Black, 25.5 percent Hispanic, and 2.9 percent Asian (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

The Illinois State Board of Education reports that United Township High School District 30 employs ninety-six teachers with an average salary of $65,666 prior to pension contributions; about half are women and half men. There have been no teachers in the district with more than ten absences in a school year (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

In terms of finances, the district spent $19,622 per student in the year 2020 for a total expenditure of $33,454,743 (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
