Family Action Network will host an in-person event featuring author Jeff Selingo and Dr. Matthew Montgomery, Superintendent of Lake Forest Schools Districts 67 and 115. The event is scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2025, at 7:00 pm at the Gorton Center in Lake Forest.
Jeff Selingo is a journalist and New York Times bestselling author. He will discuss his book "Dream School: Finding the College That’s Right for You" with Dr. Montgomery. The conversation aims to provide new perspectives on the college search process.
According to the announcement, Selingo's work draws from years of research and surveys involving thousands of parents. His book encourages families to reconsider focusing only on highly ranked colleges and instead look for lesser-known institutions that offer value, opportunity, and a sense of belonging.
"This timely conversation will help families rethink what matters most in higher education—and how to find the college that’s truly the right fit," according to organizers.
The first 100 attendees at the event will receive a free copy of "Dream School."
