Ben Vazquez, wrestler | University Of Wisconsin-Whitewater
Ben Vazquez of Antioch, Illinois, a Criminology student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has joined the Warhawk wrestling team for the 2025-26 season.
The UW-Whitewater wrestling program is ranked among the top 10 in NCAA Division III according to preseason polls by the National Wrestling Coaches Association and The Open Mat. In the previous season, the Warhawks placed third in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, finished second at the NCAA Region V tournament, and took 13th place at the NCAA Division III Championships. Four team members qualified for the NCAA Championships, with two earning All-America honors: Brayden Peet at 165 pounds and Dominik Mallinder at 133 pounds.
The Warhawks have consistently finished among the top 25 teams in NCAA Division III over the past 12 seasons, including a national runner-up finish in 2013-14. The team began its current season with a tournament in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. UW-Whitewater will host UW-Oshkosh for its first WIAC dual on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Williams Center in Whitewater.
