Anthony Soto, a Biology student from Grayslake, Illinois, has secured a position on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Warhawk wrestling team for the 2025-26 season. The university's wrestling program is currently ranked among the top ten in NCAA Division III preseason polls by both the National Wrestling Coaches Association and The Open Mat.
In the previous season, UW-Whitewater finished third in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, second at the NCAA Region V tournament, and thirteenth at the NCAA Division III Championships. Four wrestlers from the team qualified for the NCAA Championships, with two earning All-America honors. These returning athletes include Brayden Peet at 165 pounds and Dominik Mallinder at 133 pounds.
The Warhawks have consistently placed in the top 25 teams nationally over the past twelve seasons, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2013-14. The team began its current season with tournament competition in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
