Lake County holds pet vaccination, microchip clinic

Dog

The Lake County Health Department, Grayslake Police Department, and the Community Health Center's Animal Care and Control program in Grayslake, Illinois recently offered a low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic for dogs and cats.

The clinic was held Saturday at the Grayslake Police Department.

Vaccination costs ranged from $10 to $25. Microchips were $15. Fees were higher for pets that were not spayed or neutered.

The county's health department holds regular low-cost pet vaccination clinics as a convenient and affordable way for residents to keep pets up to date with their shots and rabies tags. It also offers low-cost  spay and neuter assistance to low-income residents of Lake County.

Pets as young as four months old are taken on a first-come, first-served basis at the clinics.

For information on future clinics, call 847-377-4700.
