The Lake County Health Department, Grayslake Police Department, and the Community Health Center's Animal Care and Control program in Grayslake, Illinois recently offered a low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic for dogs and cats.
The clinic was held Saturday at the Grayslake Police Department.
Vaccination costs ranged from $10 to $25. Microchips were $15. Fees were higher for pets that were not spayed or neutered.
The county's health department holds regular low-cost pet vaccination clinics as a convenient and affordable way for residents to keep pets up to date with their shots and rabies tags. It also offers low-cost spay and neuter assistance to low-income residents of Lake County.
Pets as young as four months old are taken on a first-come, first-served basis at the clinics.
