The Village of Mundelein Police Department will hold a public forum to encourage positive interaction between law enforcement and the community 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Mundelein High School Auditorium, 1350 West Hawley Street in Mundelein.
“Good communication and mutual understanding are two of the best ways to promote positive relations between law enforcement and the community," Police Chief Eric Guenther said. "Given the periodic discord and conflict between police and the communities across the country, we wanted to take a proactive approach on this issue in Mundelein and open the lines of communication."
Local police officials and members of Mundelein's Human Relations Committee will give presentations on what to expect from various types of encounters with police officers, such as if they arrive at your door, pull you over on the road or stop you on foot. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session and discussion.
