Vernon Hills Days is set to take place from Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 20 at Century Park, located at 1002 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills.
The event will feature free concerts including performances by Switchfoot, Tommy DeCarlo (former lead singer of Boston), and Modern Day Romeos. Carnival rides will include "Flower Hours," during which lights and sounds will be reduced to accommodate those with sensory needs. Additional attractions include food vendors, a bags tournament, a refreshment tent, kids' activities, and more.
For the full schedule, visit VHDays.com. Updates including weather announcements will be posted on the Vernon Hills Days Facebook page.
This year’s festival grounds will have a different layout. There will be only one entrance located off Lakeview Parkway. The carnival rides and midway area will be situated at the south end of the grounds in the Rustoleum lot at the corner of Hawthorn and Lakeview Parkways. A significant change includes the repositioning of the stage slightly northward facing westward so that concert- goers can cross the bridge to sit on the island for an optimal view.
Security measures include a presence from VHPD and other law enforcement agencies as well as bag checks at entry points off Lakeview Parkway. Visitors are reminded that no coolers or carry-ins of food or beverages are allowed; pets, firearms, smoking, and vaping are also prohibited. While concerts are free, carnival activities along with food and beverages require purchase. Those wishing to access the refreshment tent must present valid ID.
Additionally, notice has been given regarding potential drone deployments by officers as part of their safety plan.
