Nearly 100 percent of people surveyed by the village of Libertyville said the overall quality of life in the village was good or excellent.
The National Citizen Survey is a quality-of-life template administered by the Boulder, Colorado, consultant National Research Center, Inc.
Residents were asked to judge their community based on community characteristics, governance, participation, safety, mobility, natural environment, built environment, economy, recreation and wellness, education and enrichment, and community engagement.
The village received 919 quality-of-life survey submissions, representing approximately 12 percent of the village.
Of the responses, 98 percent ranked the village as a good or excellent place to live, placing Libertyville ahead of more than 300 other communities who took the same survey in every survey category except mobility.
The survey also showed that residents thought cost of living, affordable housing, economic development, downtown public parking access and public safety are all issues of importance that deserve more attention as the town moves forward.
Village and county officials will use the data gathered from the survey to develop a comprehensive Libertyville development plan.
