The Deerfield Village Board held its regular meeting Nov. 16 at Village Hall.
The board unanimously passed the village budget, including a $11,702,434 tax levy. More than $4.6 million of the levy will go to the library.
The village agreed to award the contract for its road reconstruction work to A-Lamp Concrete Contractors following the state's recommendation. A-Lamp's bid was the lowest of nine bids that ranged from $18 million to $24 million.
The village also awarded municipal contracts to Moore Landscaping Inc. for turf maintenance and landscape plantings and to Advanced Tree Care for parkway tree trimming and stump removal.
The village adopted the Lake County Watershed Development Ordinance. Villages are required to adopt the ordinance in order to keep in compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program. In exchange for adopting specific preventative measures, local governments are provided with comprehensive disaster insurance from the federal government.
