Highland Park offers info via Lakeshore Recycling during transition

With the city of Highland Park welcoming Lakeshore Recycling as its new refuse and recycling vendor starting New Year’s, it has updated its list of frequently asked questions for residents.

Cart and bin delivery, including collection of old bins, is 90 percent complete as of Friday. All customers are urged to double check their contact information and service plans for accuracy. Those who still have old bins can place them curbside for collection. If bins remain uncollected after Monday, residents can call 773-685-8811 to schedule pickup.

As the transition nears completion, Lakeshore will exchange bins for customers as desired; all households have a choice of 35-, 65- or- 95-gallon bins.

Lakeshore Recycling wants the public to know that the company is aware of recent high phone call volumes (especially during morning hours) and is striving to accommodate the issue. The company encourages constituents to contact staff via e-mail at info@lrsrecycles.com or complete a service request online at http://www.lrsrecycles.com.

Additionally, consumers can contact the city manager’s office at 847-926-1000 or visit the city’s website at www.cityhpil.com/utilities. Lakeshore Recycling has had crews working over the weekends to ensure a smooth transition for its customers.
