Muskrat and muskie sightings headlined the Lindenhurst Lakes Commission’s regular 7:00 p.m. meeting Nov. 17, 2015, in Village Hall.
After call to order, roll call indicated that the members present included Tom Heinrich, Sean Stokes, Sandy Leibolt, Patrick Hilbert and Matt Formica.
Minutes from Sept. 15, 2015’s meeting were approved. In communications and correspondence, Stokes mentioned a resident interested in helping with events.
In old business, Leibolt revealed that Keystone Hatcheries is expected to deliver tiger muskies shortly, and Stokes updated the commission on website progress, pinpointing the end of the year as a target for integrating the LLC and the village sites together.
Heinrich noted that a combined meeting with the Environmental Commission gave the LLC an opportunity to present.
In new business, the commission discussed Lake Potomac shoreline stabilization, including bids from three vendors (Integrated Lakes Management, Pizzo and Associates and Biotechnical Erosion Control LTD.) to confront an erosion issue.
Commissioner and individual VLMP reports followed, with news that water clarity was excellent; additionally, muskrat, muskie, pike and waterfowl sightings were reported.
After further addressing shoreline stabilization solutions, the meeting was adjourned.
