The Water and Sewer Committee of Libertyville will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to review infrastructure updates related to construction and utilities at Village Hall, 118 W Cook Ave.
An ongoing water and sewer rate study will be the first topic of conversation on the committee’s agenda, with a presentation by Eric Callocchia of Municipal and Financial Services Group, after which staff plans to ask the committee for a recommendation for rate increases.
Discussion of revised franchise utility permit conditions will follow. The Engineering division’s most significant revisions include exploratory excavations (or “potholing”) before beginning work and documentation of the results because of recent damage on Valley Park Drive caused by a ComEd contractor.
Precautions will be taken at the construction sites so that the work zones are protected against erosion. Additionally, excavations will not remain open overnight in public right-of-ways.
Capital improvements are in progress at two Libertyville locations: water main easements at 911 Park Ave. and 915 W. Park Ave. and water main replacements on Johnson Avenue, Merrill Court, Wheeler Court, West Ellis Avenue, East Ellis Avenue and Fourth Avenue at Paddock Lane.
The group will also handle routine matters, including the approval of minutes from its previous meeting on Feb. 9, prior to adjournment.
