A local revitalization project will take center stage at the Vernon Hills, Illinois Joint Review board meeting tomorrow at 5 p.m. at 290 Evergreen Dr. as the group reviews progress made on the Village’s continuing ventures.
Following the introduction of representatives, the participants will act to select a public member and chairperson for this group.
The redevelopment plan and project on the table, one of approximately a dozen in progress for Vernon Hills, involves the area surrounding Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Roads. Current tenants at this location include Northwestern Medical, Uncle Julio's Mexican Restaurant and three retail stores. Some permits have already been issued for the project.
Attendees will examine joint review board procedures and responsibilities, assessing the TIF (tax increment financing) plan and its associated eligibility criteria.
Following a time period set aside for questions and comments, the board members will evaluate the timetable for the project and appraise the next steps necessary prior to adjournment.
The Vernon Hills Village Board holds its regular meetings the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
