The Barrington High School Business Professionals of America team recently won several medals at the state-level competition.
The Business Professionals of America compete in a variety of business- and- computer-related events. The state competition, held at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Oak Brook, consisted of more than 1,000 students from more than 40 different Illinois high schools.
Thirteen of the schools team members earned medals in their events: George Baldassano on the Global Marketing Team, Isabella Buitrago in Computer Modeling, Angela Choksi in Interview Skills, Ali Elganzouri on the Global Marketing Team, Kaylin Hu in Banking and Finance and Personal Financial Management, Rohan Katakam in Computer Security, Sikander Kazi on the Global Marketing Team, Kartik Sarangmath in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, Armand Sarkisian on the Global Marketing Team, Ellis Sawyer in Computer Network Technology and Computer Security, Ishaan Sehgal in Fundamentals of Web Design, Aryan Walia in Fundamental Word Processing, Alice Wang in Extemporaneous Speech and Alex Zhang in Fundamental Word Processing.
Choksi, Hu, Katakam, Sawyer, Sehgal and Wang also qualified for the national competition in Boston on May 5 to May 8.
