The Highland Park’s City Council will consider issues such as police and parking matters, planning, proclamations and professional concerns at its 7:30 p.m. meeting March 21 at City Hall.
The council will tackle a group of ordinances under an omnibus vote early in the meeting for routine budgetary concerns, police business and professional services agreements—including compensation for city employees and a union agreement concerning local police.
Additionally, members will rule on a Lions Club proposal for temporary parking prohibitions at 1840 Green Bay Road to facilitate the organization’s upcoming special event for hearing and vision screening; and the city will approve a three-year agreement for internet services with Comcast at a monthly price of $885.
Dogs will have their day as the council authorizes “Domestic Pet Grooming Services” as a permitted operation in all commercial zoning districts plus the “I-Light” industry district as a result of a recommendation made by the Plan & Design Commission.
Also in community development, council members will review requests concerning multi-family residential units along Oakwood Avenue, with tentative plans to deny one proposed zoning map amendment regarding high-density dwellings but to recommend endorsement of a four-story multifamily building comprising 27 units.
The Highland Park City Council meets in Council Chambers at 1707 St. Johns Ave. The meeting will be adjourned by 10:30 p.m. at the latest.
