Deerfield to decide on décor, lighting changes March 21

The Village of Deerfield’s Appearance Review Commission (ARC) is scheduled to continue its examination of outdoor furnishing, fencing and lighting requests for Deerfield businesses when it gathers tonight for its 7 p.m. meeting at Village Hall.

As Roti Modern Mediterranean Restaurant readies for business at 720 Waukegan Road, the ARC will address details of its plans for outdoor dining to make sure that chairs and tables, fencing materials and other elements conform to village code.

Additionally, the commission will revisit illumination levels in a lighting matter.

Items from the commission will be evaluated as introduced, and staff will report updates prior to adjournment.

Deerfield Village Hall is located at 850 Waukegan Road. The session is slated for the second floor community conference room 206.

The Appearance Review Commission (ARC) is a seven-member group comprised of Deerfield volunteers and generally meets on the fourth Monday of each month.

The ARC has jurisdiction within the Village Center boundaries (downtown Deerfield) and in the C-2 Outlying Commercial District.

Those groups, organizations or businesses planning exterior changes that would require a building permit or a deviation from an approved Planned Unit development are responsible for obtaining a certificate of approval issued by the ARC—including changes to building façades, sites, landscaping, and signs.
