Barrington CUSD 220 committee to discuss policy-customization process

The Barrington Community Unit School District (CUSD) 220 Policy Committee will discuss the process of policy customization at its next meeting, 8-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Administrative Center, 310 E. James St.

IASB Representative Brian Zumpf will join the meeting at 9 a.m. to answer questions and guide the committee on policy-customization issues. The committee is expected to continue a discussion from the previous meeting regarding ALT policies from the first draft of the PRESS Policy Customization Manual process.

The committee will also address financial topics including the board fund balance, debt management and waiving student fees. Employment issues such as calendar year, schedules, family medical leave, terminations and suspensions, and general school accountability and “school wellness" also will be discussed.

Additionally, the committee will review a safety program, electronic communications and social networks, a program for the gifted, field trips and student-assignment issues, specifically intra-district transfers.

The committee is expected to set its next scheduled meeting after Friday's for 9 a.m. May 13.
