Lake County Revenue Committee considers expanding Board of Review

Meeting 05

At a meeting today, the Lake County Revenue, Records and Legislation Committee considered a resolution to expand the Board of Review in response to heavy home-valuation appeal volume.

The Lake County Revenue, Records and Legislation Committee meets the two Wednesdays preceding the board meeting. Regular meetings are at 8:30 a.m. in conference room C in the County Building, 18 N. County St., in Waukegan.

Resolution declaring that the number of appeals annually filed with the Board of

Review creates an emergency situation causing the need for an expanded Board of

Review.

· This resolution recognizes that the three members of the Board of Review need

additional assistance to complete the 2016 tax year hearings.

· This action must be done to allow the County Board Chair to appoint alternate

members.

Ordinance amending the designation of the voting sites assigned to four of the 415

precincts in Lake County Townships.

· After reviewing voting sites for the November 8, 2016 General Election, voting site

changes are proposed to provide better voting site locations to those precincts affected

by a site that has requested to discontinue serving as a polling place due to parking

and space limitations.

· Each of the four precincts will be reassigned to the Zion Leisure Center located at 2400

Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion, IL 60099, the site has sufficient parking and voting space, as

well as full accessibility for all voters.
