Continuing to corral consumers’ unwanted extra household electronics items, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) will carry on its Residential Electronics Recycling Program all year, officials recently stated via Round Lake Village’s website.
Lake County residents have a choice of four drop-off facilities, SWALCO announced.
For Cuba Township’s Road District Facility at 28070 W. Cuba Road in Barrington, hours are 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Grant Township’s facility at 26535 Molidor Road, Ingleside, is open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Grayslake accepts items at its public works facility at 585 Berry Ave. 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday plus 8 a.m.-noon on Saturdays.
Highland Park’s recycling center at 1180 Half Day Road is open only 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesdays and the first Saturday of each month.
None of the centers are open on Sundays or holidays. In addition to electronics, the Grayslake facility accepts clothing and textiles, shoes, mixed paper, cardboard, plastic containers, glass bottles and jars, steel cans and food scraps. Highland Park’s site also accepts clothing and textiles, shoes, fluorescent light bulbs, and polystyrene foam: cups, containers and packaging.
