Highwood City Council approves amendment to residential inspective fees

REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL

CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS

Tuesday, January 03, 2017 at 7:30 P.M.

Call to Order by Mayor Pecaro at 7:30 P.M.

1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro, Aldermen: Fiore, Peterson, Slavin

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Falberg, Feddermann

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Ferolo, Assistant to City Manager Marquez, Assistant to City Manager Marquez, Deputy Clerk Baruffi

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the City Council:

December 20 , 2016 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

3.2. Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the Committee of the Whole: December 20, 2016 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro)

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. Moved by Alderman Slavin, seconded by Alderman Fiore to approve the 01/03/2017 AP Warrant List as presented. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Yes: Aldermen Slavin, Fiore, Peterson, Mayor Pecaro

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Falberg, Feddermann

Moved by Alderman Slavin, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the ordinance with the amendments being required single family dwelling only, permeable driveway but without grass or weeds subject to staff approval. All present voting aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Falberg, Feddermann

12.1. 17-O-1 Moved by Alderman Slavin, seconded by Alderman Peterson to waive the first reading approve an Ordinance Regarding Certain Variations from the Highwood Zoning Ordinance for 107 Burtis Avenue , with the specified changes.

Vote:

Yes: Aldermen: Slavin, Peterson, Fiore, Mayor Pecaro

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Falberg, Feddermann

Nicholas Rumas, the petitioner was available to address concerns regarding the single family home to be built on the property, and was in agreement with the Council’s changes.

12.2. Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Peterson to table a Resolution Approving and Accepting an ARC Recommendation Regarding Wall, Window, and Door Signage for the Building at 523 Bank Lane for Kings and Convicts Brewing Company. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

12.3. 17-O-2 Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Slavin to waive the first reading and approve an Ordinance Amending 10-3-6-7 F. 5: Business District Signs to Clarify that Political Candidate Office Space Must Comply with the City of Highwood Sign Code. All present voting

aye, motion carried.

Absent: Aldermen: Grice, Falberg, Feddermann

12.4. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Fiore to table an Ordinance Amending 3-2A- 1: Fees Established to Increase the Fee for a Residential Inspection to More Accurately Reflect the Cost of the Program to the City of Highwood. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.

13. Any Action Necessary Coming Out of Executive Session

14. Adjournment Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Slavin to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:40 P.M.
