Grayslake Board of Trustees authorizes contract for water reservoir pump replacements

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF GRAYSLAKE HELD JANUARY 17, 2017

The regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Grayslake was called to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Board Room of the Grayslake Village Hall, Mayor Rhett Taylor presiding.

Roll Call: Trustees Bassett, Vogel, Jarvis, Davies, Shores - present. Trustee Waldenstrom – absent. Village Clerk Lee – present.

Also present were various Village staff members.

PUBLIC COMMENT – AGENDA ITEMS: None.

1. APPROVAL: MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF JANUARY 3, 2017 AND MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF JANUARY 3, 2017

Trustee Jarvis made a motion, seconded by Trustee Davies, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of January 3, 2017 and Minutes of the Public Hearing of January 3, 2017. On voice vote – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

2. APPROVAL: TREASURER’S REPORTS/PAYMENT OF BILLS: JANUARY 17, 2017

Trustee Bassett made a motion, seconded by Trustee Shores, to approve the Treasurer’s Report for January 17, 2017, and authorize payment of the bills as listed in the report. Roll call:

Trustees Bassett, Vogel, Jarvis, Davies, Shores – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

3. AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE: METRA AGREEMENT

Trustee Bassett made a motion, seconded by Trustee Davies, to approve an agreement with Metra for replacement of the heating system in the Lake Street station building. Roll call: Trustees Bassett, Vogel, Jarvis, Davies, Shores – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

4. ORDINANCE 2017-0-06: LIQUOR ORDINANCE BASSET REQUIREMENTS

On the recommendation of the Committee of the Whole, Trustee Jarvis made a motion, seconded by Trustee Vogel, to approve Ordinance No. 2017-0-06, amending the Liquor Code to remove the BASSET server certification requirement. Trustees Vogel, Jarvis, Davies, Shores – all “aye”. Trustee Basset – “nay”. MOTION CARRIED.

5. WAIVER OF BID AND AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE: WATER RESERVOIR PUMP REPLACEMENTS

Trustee Jarvis made a motion, seconded by Trustee Bassett, to reject all bids previously received, waive the formal bid process and authorize the execution of a contract with Grundfos, Inc in the amount of $123,189 for the replacement of water reservoir pumps 3 and 4 as per the Village budget. Roll call: Trustees Bassett, Vogel, Jarvis, Davies, Shores – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

TRUSTEE REPORTS: The Trustees advised the Economic Development Commission approved a recommended for the March budget workshop meeting and the Heritage Center Committee is meeting next week to determine the Committee recommendation budget for the spring workshop. The Trustees congratulated the Grayslake Arts Alliance on the success of their show.

MAYOR’S REPORT: None.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, Trustee Jarvis made a motion, seconded by Trustee Bassett, to adjourn the meeting. On voice vote – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
