Lake Bluff ranked 233rd in state in lottery ticket sales for April 2016

The Village of Lake Bluff had the 233rd highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of April 2016 -- up 56 spots from its March ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Lake Bluff was $25.13 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Lake County Gazette, Lake Bluff generated $142,572.50 in net sales from its four lottery retailers in April 2016, compared to $134,012.50 in April 2015.

The Village of Lake Bluff is in Lake County, and has a population of 5,674, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are North Chicago, Green Oaks, Knollwood and Lake Forest.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in April 2016 was $27,963.60.

Lake Bluff's top lottery retailer is Lake Bluff Shell located at 28787 Waukegan Rd, Lake Bluff, IL 60044.

Lake Bluff Shell generated 33 percent of Lake Bluff's April 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Lake County's sales that month, which was $10,234,678.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Lake County in 2015 were Wadsworth, Hainesville, Lake Villa, Antioch and Fox Lake.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
