MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Trustee Riess at 6:08 PM. In attendance were Kathy Felice, John Bickley, Joan Mitnick and Brian Sullivan; Director of Parks and Recreation. Brian Heraty arrived shortly after the meeting started.
Trustee Riess provided details regarding the status of the IGA with Wauconda regarding the Tree Nursery project. He also discussed the closing of the State of Illinois Nursery that we had obtained saplings from previously that we used for our Arbor Day celebration.
A motion was made by Mr. Bickely and seconded by Ms. Mitnick to approve the January 5th, 2017 minutes as published. On a voice acclimation, that motion carried.
A motion was made by Ms. Mitnick and seconded by Mr. Bickley to table the approval of the 11/03/2016 minutes. On a voice acclimation, that motion carried.
Mr. Sullivan provided a summary regarding tree availability for the 2017 Arbor Day project and discussed the prospects for grant applications following the DOE’s solar initiative.
The discussion regarding the new tree ordinance was resumed, and the committee started once again going over the Gold Ordinance format on a line by line basis.
At 8:00 PM, a motion was made by Mr. Bickley and seconded by Ms. Felice to adjourn, and on a voice vote, that motion carried.
