Report: Zion spent $11,314 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Zion Elementary School District 6 is up 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $10,901 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,314 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 2489 to 2759.

Zion's spending in 2016-17 was 13 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
