Report: Emmons spent $15,971 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Emmons School District 33 is up 26 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $12,647 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $15,971 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 318 to 320.

Emmons's spending in 2016-17 was 23 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
