Report: Grayslake spent $17,652 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Grayslake Community High School District 127 is up 22 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $14,445 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,652 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2981 to 2940.

Grayslake's spending in 2016-17 was 36 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
