Countryside Fire Protection District responded to 755 calls in 2017 - 9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Countryside included 103 fires - 77 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 19 other fires. The fire department also responded to five calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,013,104 in fire loss - or about $9,836 per fire.

The department also received 647 false calls, including one malicious call and 646 other false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents and three were injured in non fire-related incidents.
