WAUKEGAN COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 60: New Student Registration Open

Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 issued the following announcement on July 16.

Registration for the upcoming school year is open for families new to the Waukegan Public Schools’ attendance area.

Students who will be entering kindergarten through 12th grade may register at the District’s Welcome Center, 742 W Greenwood Avenue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Paperwork can be completed ahead of time by visiting the District’s registration webpage. Parents are asked to please remember your application number when you arrive at the Welcome Center to complete registration.

Parents are asked to please bring their child’s original birth certificate, as well as proofs of residency. Proof of residency must include two of the following: a gas, electric, or water bill dated within the past two months, lease or housing contract showing parent’s name and address, or an Illinois driver’s license or state identification card. If a proof of residency is in someone else’s name, a notarized affidavit letter from that person will be required. Affidavits can be obtained at the Welcome Center or online at www.wps60.org. No child will be registered without all of the required documentation.

Parents are also asked to bring their child's current school physical with a record of immunizations.

Please note that any student who hears or speaks any language other than English will be required to take an English language evaluation.
