A. (Action) Consideration for Approval of An Ordinance Amending Chapter 51 of the Village Code of the Village of Wauconda Related to the Combined Waterworks and Sewerage System
(Ordinance No. 2018-O-15)
Kevin Timony:
Items 9A and 9B relate to previous discussion on the water and sewer rates. The ordinance in 9A is more of an administrative amendment. Water and sewer rates are imbedded into the Village code. This modifies that to make adoption of the Village water and sewer rates by ordinance, with the plan that it will be revisited every year, making it much easier to amend an ordinance rather than going to the Village code and amending the table every year. The rate table and minimum usage requirements are now reflected in the new ordinance containing the rate schedules.
Trustee Starkey: Good that it’s pulled out of the code so that when it’s updated the code doesn’t have to be updated.
Trustee Howe: This is in keeping with the way we have been heading to keep fees done by schedule.
Motion to Approve Ordinance Amending Chapter 51 of the Village Code of the Village of the Village of

Trustee Morino: Love the transparency. This will make our constituency happy and help them understand what the rates are and why.

11. Mayor’s Report
He thanked Public Works for all their work and challenges during the storms. He thanked Ed Lochmayer and the Bangs Lake Advisory Committee and the Marine Unit for all the work they are doing on the lake right now. He appreciates all the updates and all the input going into social media to keep the residents informed; and good use on the electronic sign. Thanks to Kevin Timony and Alise for their work on the State of the Village address. This morning he had a tour of CLCJAWA along with Congressman Brad Schneider. We may have a special committee meeting where we can get everybody all at one time, and possibly the Chamber members as well, and start getting the word out. He will keep everyone posted on that. He spoke with Trustee Howe about the License and Amin meeting coming up on July 16th and asked if the committee would look at the video gaming ordinance and just do a review of it to see if there are any updates that need done on it. Tomorrow is the fireworks and hopefully everyone will be safe and have a happy holiday.
