Northbrook State House candidate Jonathan Carroll received another $31,510 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Aug. 15 and Sept. 6, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends of Jonathan Carroll, the campaign committee that supports Carroll’s race against Republican Mary Battinus in the 57th district.
This district covers all or part of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, Mount Prospect, Northbrook, Palatine, and Wheeling.
Madigan’s contributions to Carroll came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $46,685 to the candidate’s campaign.
From Aug. 15 to Sept. 6, Madigan spent $2.67 million backing campaigns for 31 candidates. He's spent more than $100,000 on 12 candidates and more than $40,000 on 18.
