Village of Volo Village Board met Sept. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Volo was called to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Board Room of the Volo Village Hall, Mayor Stephen Henley presiding.

Roll Call: Trustees Porter, Johnson, Heuser, Northam - present; Trustees Wagner, Buttita - absent. Village Clerk Rydberg - present.

Also present were various staff members.

PUBLIC COMMENT – AGENDA ITEMS: None.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 4, 2018

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 4, 2018. On voice vote – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

APPROVAL: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE – SEPTEMBER 18, 2018

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Northam, to authorize payment of the bills as listed in the Treasurer’s Report for September 18, 2018. Roll Call: Trustees Porter, Johnson, Heuser, Northam – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

PROCLAMATION: RAIL SAFETY WEEK

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to proclaim September 23 – 29, 2018 as Rail Safety Week in the Village of Volo. On voice vote – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

APPROVAL: ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT

Sean Hickey, Senior Manager at Lauterbach & Amen, presented the Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2018. Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to approve the Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2018. Roll Call: Trustees Johnson, Heuser, Northam, Porter – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

ORDINANCE NO. O-18-19: GRANTING FINAL PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT AND SUBDIVISION APPROVALS FOR UNITS 5 AND 6 OF THE REMINGTON POINTE NORTH SUBDIVISION

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Johnson, to approve Ordinance No. O-18-19, granting final planned unit development and subdivision approvals for Units 5 and 6 of the Remington Pointe North Subdivision. Roll Call: Trustees Heuser, Northam, Porter, Johnson – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

WAIVER OF BIDS / AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE: WELL #5 REPAIRS

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Northam, to waive the formal bid process and authorize execution of a contract with Water Well Solutions for repairs to Well #5. Roll Call: Trustees Northam, Porter, Johnson, Heuser – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

ACCEPTANCE OF BIDS / AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE: LED STREET SIGN INSTALLATION

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Heuser, to accept the bids and award the contract for the installation of LED street name signs on Fish Lake Road to Home Towne Electric. Roll Call: Trustees Porter, Johnson, Heuser, Northam – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

FEE WAIVER REQUEST: WAUCONDA FIRE DISTRICT

Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Johnson, to waive the water connection fee for 1300 S. Gilmer Road (Station #3) contingent upon a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Village and the District for the grant of a utility easement across the frontage of the District’s property on Route 12 for future utility extensions. Roll Call: Trustees Johnson, Heuser, Northam, Porter – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None. TRUSTEE REPORTS: None.

MAYOR’S REPORT: Mayor Henley invited everyone to Volo Fest on Saturday, September 22nd from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Volo Auto Museum.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, Trustee Porter made a motion, seconded by Trustee Northam, to adjourn the meeting. On voice vote – all “aye”. MOTION CARRIED.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 P.M.
