State House race: Republican Jesiel wins voter tally in Benton Township Precinct 51

Sheri Jesiel led Democrat Joyce Mason in votes cast in Benton Township Precinct 51 for the District 61 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Jesiel appeared to outpace Mason by a margin of 23.7 percent on Tuesday in the precinct.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Sheri Jesiel, won by a margin of 19.1 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Loren Karner, who received 167 votes to Jesiel's 246.
