State House race: Republican Jesiel wins voter tally in Benton Township Precinct 53

Sheri Jesiel led Democrat Joyce Mason in votes cast in Benton Township Precinct 53 for the District 61 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Jesiel appeared to outpace Mason by a margin of 33.7 percent on Tuesday in the precinct.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Sheri Jesiel, won by a margin of 18.2 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Loren Karner, who received 213 votes to Jesiel's 308.
