Mason appeared to outpace Jesiel by a margin of 37 percent on Tuesday in the precinct.
In comparison, the 2014 winner, Democrat Loren Karner, won by a margin of 19.1 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Republican Sheri Jesiel, who received 178 votes to Karner's 262.
