State House race: Democrat Mason wins voter tally in Lake Villa Township Precinct 148

Joyce Mason led Republican Sheri Jesiel in votes cast in Lake Villa Township Precinct 148 for the District 61 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Mason appeared to outpace Jesiel by a margin of 4.5 percent on Tuesday in the precinct.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Sheri Jesiel, won by a margin of 27 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Loren Karner, who received 184 votes to Jesiel's 320.
