Joyce Mason led Republican Sheri Jesiel in votes cast in Zion Township Precinct 404 for the District 61 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Mason appeared to outpace Jesiel by a margin of 18.9 percent on Tuesday in the precinct.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Democrat Loren Karner, won by a margin of 4.8 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Republican Sheri Jesiel, who received 170 votes to Karner's 187.
