Sam Yingling led Republican Ken Idstein in votes cast in Lake Villa Township for the District 62 state House race, according to the latest vote count.
Yingling appeared to outpace Idstein by a margin of 22.6 percent on Tuesday in the township.
In comparison, the 2014 winner, Democrat Sam Yingling, won by a margin of 11 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Republican Rod Drobinski, who received 673 votes to Yingling's 841.
